Saint Lawrence river, morning fog, n°1 (watercolor on 22,5 x 13 cm & 185 gsm paper) - Standard shipment

Here is the first work of this series (n°1/5). That morning, after an icy winter night, the first rays of sun have just appeared behind the cliff on the other side of the shore. Gradually, with the rays gaining ground, the St. Lawrence River is once again lit up in Olympian calm. The unthinkable then occurs: it is as if the water was boiling, several layers of fog are suddenly created all over the place at sea level. Then these sheets become columns of thick clouds floating in the wind. One by one, the parcels of landscapes disappear. Finally, a boat is also swallowed up. For me, the possibilities offered by watercolor are ideal for transcribing this type of vaporous atmosphere.

Fleuve Saint-Laurent, brouillard matinal, n°1 (aquarelle réalisée sur papier 185 g/m² de 22.5 x 13 cm) - Envoi standard

Voici la première œuvre de cette série (n°1/5). Ce matin-là, après une nuit hivernale de glace, les premiers rayons de soleil viennent tout juste d'apparaître derrière la falaise de l'autre côté de la rive. Peu à peu, les rayons gagnant du terrain, le fleuve Saint-Laurent est à nouveau éclairé dans un calme olympien. L'impensable se produit alors : c'est comme si l'eau bouillait, plusieurs nappes de brouillard se créent soudainement un peu partout au niveau de la mer. Puis ces nappes deviennent des colonnes d'épais nuages flottant au vent. Une à une, les parcelles de paysages disparaissent. Enfin, un bateau est englouti à son tour. Les possibilités qu'offrent l'aquarelle sont pour moi idéales pour retranscrire ce type d'ambiance vaporeuse.
